Chicagoland English Country Dancers and the Nineteenth Century Club
are pleased to present a special program

English Country Dances of

Ignatius Sancho

Sancho lived in 18^th century England and was the
first black composer ever to have his music published.

All are welcome to participate in the dancing, or to attend as spectators.

No advance ticket sales.
Suggested donation at the door is $15 for adults
$10 for students, seniors, and those with limited income
$5 for non-dancing spectators.
Proceeds benefit the Scholarship Fund of the Nineteenth Century Charitable Association.

This is a fragrance-free event, so those attending are asked to refrain from wearing perfume and other heavily scented products.

Sancho’s music soon will be published again by Music by Black Composers, which is a project of the Rachel Barton Pine Foundation.
We are especially pleased to present this program of Sancho’s works during Black History Month.
